PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To deliver an unforgettable, unique guest experience during banquets, conferences, and events, including presenting menus, taking orders, setting up venues, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Key Performance Areas:

• Provide personalised guest service based on preferences to ensure an exceptional and lasting guest experience.
• Maintain TLV standards (temperature, lighting, and volume) to ensure luxury guest experience.
• Set up conference venues according to guest itineraries and ensure timely service of breaks and meals.
• Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for events.
• Prepare and refresh coffee and tea stations as required.
• Set up rooms according to client requirements across different sites.
• Prepare service areas based on booking sheets and event requirements.
• Assist in serving guests and setting up banquet rooms with required glassware, service ware, and linen.
• Serve food and beverages in the correct sequence and in line with supervisory expectations.
• Present menus and take guest orders at conferences, ensuring accurate entry into the Micros system.
• Respond confidently to guest inquiries with knowledge of menu items, preparation methods, and daily specials.
• Maintain consistent beverage service and guest satisfaction throughout events.
• Clear dishes efficiently as guests complete each course.
• Ensure correct billing procedures are followed and payments are accurately processed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Grade 12.
• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant operation as a waiter within a 4- or 5-star hotel or restaurant environment.
• Basic mathematics skills for handling payments and providing correct change.
