PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To control the overall operation of the Fruits & Vegetables department by producing fresh and quality products, maintain hygiene and food safety standards and promote excellent customer service in order to achieve profitability..

Key Accountabilities

• Utilise available resources effectively to attain monthly budgeted turnover results for the department.
• Implement proper control over shrinkage and waste targets.
• Be responsible for the effective preparation for the stock take and liaise with the Administrative Controller during such stock-taking preparations.
• Control the stock rotation processes and maintain overall quality of products and expired stock.
• Implement, apply, and monitor QDVP4 standards within the whole department.
• Accept accountability for the production schedules and determine volumes required.
• Control the Inter-Departmental Transfer (IDT) and waste management process.
• Prepare and timeously present all specialities and display them in an attractive manner.
• Check and monitor that all areas within the department are cleaned and that machinery is correctly and safely operated.
• Oversee the functions and work delivery of all reporting staff.
• Maintain company standards and ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

• National Senior Level Certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Fresh department/retail environment with supervisory responsibilities.
