Job Description:

To develop, maintain and oversee Financial Crime Policies and Standards, designed to ensure that business areas/segments are compliant, protected from risk and loss from financial crime.


Are you someone who can:

  • Control expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs.
  • Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation.
  • Deliver customer experience excellence in own service delivery aligned to organisational values and service standards.
  • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence together with analysing trends and data.
  • Provide regular reports on delivery of services against agreed service level agreements and overall customer targets.
  • Accumulate information to review work progress that provides input to reporting, decision making and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Implement, monitor and control business processes according to quality standards, policy, and compliance and governance requirements.
  • Ensure the development, alignment, mapping and implementation of end-to-end processes aligned to the customer journey map.
  • Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement.
  • Review existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy.
  • Monitor customer feedback reports and align processes to maximise efficiencies.
  • Provide proactive stakeholder engagement for all policy changes, ensuring business and regulatory needs are appropriately accommodated within Financial Crime related policies and standards.
  • Engage with teams to support business procedure evaluation to ensure they meet expectations including regulatory requirements.
  • Be accountable for oversight and authorisation of Financial Crime related policy deviance where temporary or permanent exceptions are agreed.
  • Provide support for second line compliance monitoring and testing of financial crime risks.
  • Provide second line support for first line fraud prevention teams.
  • Provide feedback on financial crime risks and issues to define and deliver appropriate solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Produce regular management information and data for reporting on Financial Crime risks to Regional and Executive Boards.
  • Consult with operational managers to ensure conformance with applicable laws and regulations across diverse fields.
  • Manage, oversee, and monitor FAIS compliance to ensure representatives comply with financial soundness requirements, licence conditions and annual levies.
  • Ensure understanding and control of KYC, AML, FATCA and AEOI regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with and oversight of ongoing statutory regulatory requirements, update operational procedures and participate in compliance committees.
  • Provide an advisory role for the business as the SME on Financial Crime.
  • Display and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivity.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have a Diploma in Banking or Finance related fields will be an added advantage
  • Have 5+ years of experience in a similar environment
