PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To sort, count, label, weigh, pack products, and cut sausages according to the slicing plan.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Cut and layer cold processed meat polonies prior to vacuum packing
• Verify correct product labels and place products into crates according to required quantities
• Assist with packing on the Multivac machine as requested by the Slicing and Packaging Supervisor
• Receive and pick products from production for slicing and packaging
• Cut sausages immediately after production
• Assist the Line Manager with moving crates and boxes during weekly and monthly stocktakes
• Assist with stock counting during weekly and monthly stocktakes
• Provide assistance in other areas or duties as requested by Management
• Adhere to company quality regulations and standards
• Identify faults and report quality issues to the Supervisor or Team Leader
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area in line with “clean-as-you-go” principles
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP)
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and report deviations or incidents
• Wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before commencing duties
• Wash and sanitize hands before entering the factory
• Wash gumboots at the factory entrance
• Comply with company cold chain regulations
• Clean and sanitize machines, equipment, work areas, containers, mini cars, and crates to meet food safety requirements
• Ensure all machines are switched off and water taps and air outlets are closed at the end of business
• Clean all operational areas and leave them in a hygienic condition at close of business
• Cut nets, pack rolls, and place them into crates
• Store all finished products in the cooler in accordance with FIFO principles

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

• Grade 12
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing industry
• Basic numeric skills
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices
• Basic computer skills
