Formulates, monitors and implements investment policies to manage assigned portfolios. Devises and implements investment strategies and processes to meet client goals and constraints, constructs and manage portfolios and makes decisions on what and when to buy and sell investments.

Job Specification

• Conduct investment research.
• Monitor developments in security markets.

• Take responsibility for all functions related to the management of the investment portfolio.
• Buy and sell investment assets.
• Liaise with tax attorneys or accountants to determine the legal consequences of investment decisions.
• Develop investment and economic strategies based on management philosophy and customer objectives.
• Formulate, revise, and implement investment plans, which may include fixed income, equity, property, and foreign exchange portfolios, as well as economic reviews.
• Analyse the market, identify investment opportunities, and work with external consultants to develop new products and features for existing products to meet the needs of specific target markets.
• Balance personal priorities with the responsibility of directing and motivating others.
• Manage and direct analysts to complete relevant investment research.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Namibian citizen.
• NQF Level 8 degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Accountant qualification.
• 5–8 years' working experience in Investment Management, including at least 5 years at supervisory or management level as a Portfolio Manager.
• Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed challenging business targets.
