Purpose of the Job

To ensure consistent adherence to established quality and hygiene standards, guaranteeing that all products meet the required specifications at all times. This role is also responsible for upholding and effectively implementing the organization’s quality policy across all relevant operations.

Key Performance Areas

• Plan and organize daily inspections in accordance with the company’s quality policy and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and record temperatures of meat, cold rooms, and cartons throughout all production stages, including dispatch.
• Conduct pH and chlorine readings, ensuring they fall within prescribed limits, and report any deviations promptly.
• Oversee cleaning procedures and proper use of chemicals to maintain a hygienic working environment.
• Support continuous improvement in quality systems.
• Ensure pest control program is followed.
• Ensure that water for sterilizers and hand washing is tested as per work instruction.
• Carry out sampling of product during production and finished product.
• Monitor general housekeeping in areas of duty.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the meat industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in Quality Assurance, including knowledge of ISO standards, HACCP, GMP, BRCGS and hygiene procedures will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations is advantageous.
