Job Specification

Manages effective customer service and relations to deliver customer service satisfaction, Reviews risk submissions from clients, agents, and referrals, and underwrites insurance requests within guidelines of the underwriting manual and authority limits. Applies underwriting and risk-selection techniques to determine acceptability of new and renewal insurance risks.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Support Business Development Consultants (BDCs) in acquiring and retaining profitable business.
• Handle administrative tasks and written communication effectively.
• Ensure accurate processing of documentation and placement of reinsurance where required.
• Verify, authorise, and dispatch documentation in line with company standards.
• Maintain service quality and outputs in line with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints, providing timely feedback.
• Ensure renewal reviews are completed on time while maintaining underwriting standards.
• Deliver high-quality client and broker service.
• Implement continuous improvements in processes, procedures, and workflows.
• Adhere to organisational policies, culture, and people practices.
• Ensure compliance with financial and corporate policies to maintain cost efficiency and reduce wastage.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• NQF Level 7 tertiary qualification.
• Namibian citizenship.
• 2–3 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
• Insurance qualification will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Client-oriented with a strong customer service mindset.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills (internal and external).
• Highly administrative with strong attention to detail.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
• Technical underwriting or short-term insurance knowledge will be an advantage.
• Energetic, values-driven, and willing to exceed expectations.
