Job Description:

To act as the strategic liaison between business and the Merchant Acquiring technology function to ensure that technology teams are empowered and understand how technology can be leveraged in order to support the business area


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The IT Audit Specialist is responsible for leading the audit team and providing assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls across the bank’s technology environment in alignment with GIA methodology and relevant standards.


The role is part of GIA’s management team, leading audit execution, and contributing to the strategic direction and maturity of the IT audit function. The specialist plays a critical role in delivering risk-based assurance, supporting cybersecurity and digital transformation oversight, and enhancing stakeholder confidence in the control environment.


Are you someone who can:

  • Lead and oversee the technical functions of Online Banking, the FNB Banking App and Mobile Banking (USSD) channels, driving customer experience and adoption and ensuring adequate security protocols, to enhance the overall Digital Value Proposition
  • Implement business objectives relating to digital, including identifying technological opportunities that foster innovation and sustained competitive advantage
  • Oversee alignment in all retail platform strategic initiatives to enhance user experience, streamline operations, and ensure seamless integration with emerging technologies to drive digital migration
  • Coordinate the transition from traditional channels to digital channels by implementing robust onboarding processes, educating customers on digital services, and optimizing platform processes for better efficiency
  • Oversee the planning and execution of testing processes to ensure Digital Banking Channels meet user requirements and expectations; this includes collaborating with stakeholders to define testing criteria, coordinating testing schedules, and validating results to ensure system readiness
  • Effectively and efficiently resolve technical defects on the Online Banking, FNB Banking App, and Mobile Banking (USSD) channels

You will have access to:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Have 3–5 years of experience in a similar environment, with 2–3 years ideally at management level
  • Are a highly energetic self-starter with initiative to drive projects and resolve digital defects
  • Have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong teamwork and assertiveness skills
  • Have knowledge of the financial sector with a specific focus on Digital Banking, project life cycles, and project management principles
  • Have experience with mobile security
