A full line pharmaceutical wholesaler/distributor of medicine, surgical, clinical and consumer products in Namibia has a vacancy for a Graphic Designer.

Overview:

The Junior Software Developer is an entry-level position that requires foundational understanding of programming and a strong interest in software development. The incumbent will be participating in the design and development of software applications, collaborating with team members, testing, and debugging applications, and continuously learning new technologies and methodologies

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Grade 12 is compulsory.
• Experience in version control systems, such as GIT.
• Experience in database technologies (SQL, Mongo, Maria, Open Edge) and web development technologies (Progress OpenEdge, Java, C++).
• Experience and understanding of Agile development Methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the design phase of new software applications
• Develop software across various platforms using multiple programming languages.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Implement new features and functionalities as per project requirements.
• Work closely with senior developers, designers, and project managers to understand requirements.
• Conduct unit testing of applications to ensure reliability and functionality
• Identify, troubleshoot, and debug issues in existing applications.
• Keep up to date with the latest development trends and technologies.
• Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation for project development and system design
• Document code changes and developments for future reference.
• Assist in developing testing strategies and test cases.
• Support the maintenance of existing software applications.
• Implement updates and enhancements to improve application performance.
• Work with the QA team to ensure that developed applications meet quality standards.

• Language skills: English & Afrikaans
• Leadership skills: Be decisive, able to give direction and to guide others, strategic thinking, exceptional time management skills
• Mathematical skills: Adequate comprehension of basic mathematics skills
• Communication skill: The employee must be able to communicate with subordinates, fellow employees, and superiors.
• Physical demands: The employee should be in a healthy physical condition.
